Cornelius, Nicholson, Charnofsky
Pianist Eric Charnofsky, violinist Emily Cornelius, and cellist Robert Nicholson invite you to a thoughtfully curated performance at Disciples Christian Church on January 14th, 2024, at 3:00 PM. The repertoire includes pieces by Lukas Foss, a notable figure in 20th-century American music known for his expressive depth and unique harmonic language. Samuel Coleridge Taylor's compositions, influenced by African themes, will add a tapestry of melodies representing the late Romantic era. The minimalist and spiritual works of Arvo Pärt promise a contemplative experience, transcending traditional boundaries. Pianist Eric Charnofsky will contribute his composition to the mix, bringing a contemporary touch to the program. Rising star Jessie Montgomery's compositions will add a modern perspective, blending traditional and contemporary styles. A composition by Karl Jenkins will draw inspiration from global musical traditions in his contributions. Admission is FREE, presented by the Local 4 Music Fund, which is dedicated to making high-quality music accessible to all.
