Children's and Family Ministries

Our Ministry both to Children and to Families is growing rapidly. What follows provides an overview of those ministries now.

 

There are a variety of offerings, including music, for Children of all ages on Sunday mornings during Sunday Church School. These take place beginning at 10:00 a.m. during our worship service.

Other opportunities, including participation in our Children's Choir, are presented during our Disciples' Hour educational time beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Our children are engaged in several types of outreach ministry throughout our community and the world.

Our Ministry to Families is not only for children and parents - it includes our entire faith community. Members and their friends of all ages come to participate in annual and occasional events such as:

- an End of the Summer Picnic (complete with a barbeque, games for all ages, bubbles galore, and surprise competitions);

- a Fall Spooktacular (come in costume and enjoy a scarecrow-making competition, a scavenger hunt, Halloween crafts, "haunted" organ music, and plenty to eat);

- an Advent Event (make crafts for our shut-ins and decorations for our Fellowship Hall and Christmas tree; bring cookies and participate in a cookie exchange; enjoy munching on cookies);

 
- and the Great Egg Hunt and Brunch on Palm Sunday (each child gets to find a dozen Easter eggs which are hidden in different areas for different aged groups after enjoying a wonderful Bunny Luncheon for all families).
